Jensen (DK), Siemon Allen, Anthea Moys, James Webb, Nandipha Mntambo, Athi Patra-Ruga, Nicholas Hlobo and Alastair Mclachlan Johannesburg Art Gallery, Johannesburg, South Africa, September 26, 2008 - March 1, 2009 The selected artists and their respective works examine the relationship Nordic and South African artists have to notions of identity and place, bu focusing on such elements as psychosis, consumption, beauty and hope. The exhibition has used the contemporary mediums of sound, performance, photography and video installations as a way of meditating on the above. The exhibition was curated by Maria Fidel Regueros and Clive Kellner, Director of Johannesburg Art Gallery and has receievd support from FRAME Finnish Fund for Art Exchange.
