Five Variations on Transcending the Finiteness of Human Vision

Adel Abidin, Sanna Kannisto, Anu Pennanen, Jani Ruscica and Jari Silomäki

Gallery ARTGET, Belgrade, Serbia, June 10 - 24, 2008

The exhibition offers five variations on the finiteness of human vision. These variations are provided by Adel Abidin's Tasty, Sanna Kannisto's Poison Dart Frog Males, Anu Pennanen's You don´t realize it used to be different, Jani Ruscica's Batbox/Beatbox, and Jari Silomäki's Ordinary Days, Ordinary Towns. Each in its own way, these works reflect on the difficulty of seeing beyond marked paths and mental highways, of transcending physical boundaries and zones to create new (political) spaces and alternatives.

The exhibition was curated by Marita Muukkonen from FRAME and was a collaboration between FRAME Finnish Fund for Art Exchange and the Belgrade Cultural Centre.
