An exhibition featuring 16 Finnish artists opened at Ludwig Museum, Budapest, on February 5th, 2009. February 5 - April 12, 2009Ludwig Museum, Budapest, Hungary Markus Copper, Veli Granö, Ilkka Halso, The Screaming Men/Mika Ronkainen, Pekka Jylhä, Tellervo Kalleinen & Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen, Reijo Kela, Erkki Kurenniemi, Tea Mäkipää, Sami Sänpäkkilä, Pink Twins, Anni Rapinoja, Stiina Saaristo, Jari Silomäki, Mika Taanila and Salla Tykkä Organized by FRAME Finnish Fund for Art Exchange, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center and the Artists' Association of Finland, this exhibition was first presented at the P.S.1 MoMA Contemporary Art Center, New York in 2008. Arctic Hysteria is an intergenerational and interdisciplinary exhibition featuring 16 Finnish artists. The show takes stereotypes of the Finns as starting point, to reveal a contemporary art that is eclectic and wide-ranging, and offers ironic but honest view of Finland. The exhibition is organised by Ludwig Museum in collaboration with FRAME Finnish Fund for Art Exchange, Artists' Association of Finland and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. It has been curated by P.S.1 Director Alanna Heiss and FRAME Director Marketta Seppälä. Further information: |
