Pekka Jylhä, Valon tuoja (Bearer of Light), 2002

Arctic hysteria resonates in the work of 16 Finnish artists or groups, and features sculptures, videos, paintings, photographs, installations, audio works and a documentary film. Arctic Hysteria is curated by Alanna Heiss (P.S.1 MoMA, New York) and Marketta Seppälä (FRAME – Finnish Fund for Art Exchange).

The artists are Veli Granö, Reijo Kela, Erkki Kurenniemi, Petri Sirviö/The Screaming Men, Mika Ronkainen, Tea Mäkipää, Pink Twins, Mika Taanila, Markus Copper, Ilkka Halso, Pekka Jylhä, Anni Rapinoja, Stiina Saaristo, Jari Silomäki, Sami Sänpäkkilä, Tellervo Kalleinen & Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen, and Salla Tykkä.

The exhibition was previously on view in the P.S.1 MoMA Contemporary Art Center in New York and at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest. The version in the Kunsthalle will also include new work not shown in the previous exhibitions.

The exhibition is produced in cooperation with the Artists' Association of Finland and FRAME.
