Framework Issue 6 is built around the theme of a seminar A Critique of Creative Industries, co-organised by FRAME Finnish Fund for Art Exchange and eipcp (European Institute for Progressive Cultural Policies, based in Vienna) in Helsinki, 31 August - 2 September 2006.

The aim of the seminar was to analyse the instrumental use of creativity and the impact it has on public support sector for the arts and culture. Material from the seminar is also published on eipcp’s multilingual webjournal transversal (http://transversal.eipch.net).

Among the contributors in the seminar were Gerald Raunig, Maurizio Lazzarato, Matteo Pasquinelli, Tere Vadén, Ulf Wuggenig, Raimund Minichbauer, Marko Karo & Marita Muukkonen, Maria Lind, Monika Mokre, and Branka Curcic.Topics related to the theme of the issue have been dealt also, for example, by René Block and Marius Babias, Chuck Dyke, Hannele Koivunen, Branimir Stojanovic, and Kirsi Peltomäki.

The featured artists are Kari Cavén, Tommi Grönlund & Petteri Nisunen, Terike Haapoja, and Juha Huuskonen.
